I began my career as a luthier doing guitar repair. Since 1996 my goal has been to make every instrument that lands on my bench perform beyond expectation. With playability my main focus, I take pride in making even some of the cheapest guitars out perform high-end factory produced instruments with minimal investment. More importantly, I understand that playability is a very personal thing and that not everyone has the same ideal settings. That’s why I try and listen to each client’s individual needs and I’m more than willing to make further adjustments to meet those needs even after the work is done. Whether it’s right for me or not doesn’t matter so long as it’s right for you.
I perform all sorts of repair work from simple restrings and setups to complex wiring involving things like internal guitar synth pickups. Acoustic, electric, bass, even mandolin work. Even if you’ve been told that it can’t be done or if you’ve had someone else do a less-than-satisfactory job in the past, I’d be more than happy to look at whatever you have and give you my honest assessment, often with several options as to what can be done and what result we can expect. Estimates are always free.
I’ve always tried to complete repairs in the order that they came in, but over the years as I’ve become busier that has become more difficult for some of my clients. I understand that sometimes being without an instrument for weeks waiting for a repair won’t work or in some cases you need something done right away. That’s why I’m now offering appointments for repair work before the instrument is dropped off. Setup an appointment below.
